Telephone Triage & Advice

Our doctors conduct telephone consultations.

Each day we offer a doctor telephone triage system to ensure patients who are ill and need to speak to a doctor that day can access our doctor triage appointment system – this means that the receptionist will add you onto the telephone consultation list of the duty doctor(s) on call that day. The doctor will contact you by telephone and, if necessary, he/she will book you a face to face appointment either the same day, or another day, based on your clinical need.

We also provide telephone advice for ongoing, non-urgent issues and queries. We try to make sure that you see the doctor of your choice but if he/she is not available we may suggest that you see another doctor. In some circumstances, requesting an appointment with a particular doctor may result in you having to wait longer for an appointment.

Telephone consultations are held in morning and afternoon clinics which can be booked in advance. The doctor will endeavour to ring you within a 2 hour window of your telephone appointment time, but please bear in mind that this is not always possible.
